Israeli Settlers Force Palestinian Families from Homes

(MENAFN) Illegal Israeli settlers compelled 15 Palestinian households to dismantle their residences and vacate the northern Jordan Valley in the northeastern West Bank, a local official reported Tuesday.

Mahdi Daraghmeh, head of the al-Malih village council, informed an official news agency that approximately 15 families began tearing down their homes following the rise of illegal settler assaults directed at them.

Earlier, seven additional families were driven out from the nearby Maita community due to similar threats and settler aggressions, the news agency reported.

In another episode, illegal settlers attacked young men in the town of al-Nabi Samwil, situated northwest of East Jerusalem, wounding one individual who was subsequently hospitalized with bruises, according to the same source.

Since initiating its war in Gaza on October 8, 2023, Israel has escalated military actions in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Palestinian authorities state that these operations involve killings, arrests, forced displacement, and settlement expansions, with the aim of creating new realities on the ground.

Official Palestinian figures indicate that at least 1,114 Palestinians have been killed, roughly 11,500 injured, and around 22,000 detained in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

On Sunday, the Israeli administration approved a plan to designate extensive areas in the West Bank as “state property,” marking the first such decision since Tel Aviv occupied the territory in 1967.
